The creators of “Westworld” have a bold strategy to avoid spoilers in the second season, and it apparently involves just giving the plot away.

Creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy wrote the following during a Reddit AMA, according to Polygon:

If you guys agree, we’re going to post a video that lays out the plot (and twists and turns) of season 2. Everything. The whole sordid thing. Up front. That way the members of the community here who want the season spoiled for them can watch ahead, and then protect the rest of the community, and help to distinguish between what’s ‘theory’ and what’s spoiler.

Well, this is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard of in my life. This makes less than no sense. It’s beyond stupid.

I hope this is a joke. I sincerely hope that this was an off the cuff remark made sarcastically because I will be pissed beyond imagination if this is real. Look, I know spoilers are a super serious problem, but giving clues or hints ahead of time is not the way to deal with them.

You can catch “Westworld” when it returns April 22, and I damn well better not see any spoilers. Otherwise, I’m going to make what Dolores and the Man in Black did in season one look like a walk in the part on a sunny day.
