MSNBC’s Sam Stein claimed it is a “press scandal” that President Trump has not sat down for an unfriendly TV interview in a year.
He noted that the last time Trump gave an extended interview to a “non-sympaethic TV host/outlet” was a little less than a year ago with Lester Holt.
Another press scandal: In about 11 days, it will be the one-year anniversary of Trump’s interview with Lester Holt. A year will have gone by since he’s sat down with a non-sympathetic TV host/outlet for an extended interview.

Stein didn’t mention that Obama had a similarly chilly relationship with Fox News and actually waited over two years between a set of interviews with the network.
Obama gave an interview to then-anchor Bill O’Reilly in February 2014. His next interview with Fox wasn’t until April 2016 with Chris Wallace.
Studies during Obama’s tenure also found that he was far less likely to call on Fox News when compared to other establishment media outlets like ABC, CBS, and CNN. According to Accuracy in Media, Fox ranked ninth in terms of opportunities to question Obama, receiving less than half the number of questions as ABC.
