President Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani said “collusion is not a crime” on Fox News Monday.
WATCH:
“I’ve been sitting here, looking in the federal code, trying to find collusion as a crime. Collusion is not a crime. Everything that’s been released so far shows the president absolutely innocent. He didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Last two tapes are evidence in his favor, he wants to a transaction by check — wants to do a corporate transaction. Perfectly legal. The second one — he describes in great detail the Stormy Daniels deal to Cuomo, and he says the president didn’t know about it. The president didn’t have the money. I paid for it myself. I wasn’t a campaign contribution.”
Giuliani also went on CNN Monday morning and made a similar comment, downplaying the illegality of collusion.
GIULIANI argues ***collusion is not a crime***: “I don’t even know if that’s a crime — colluding with Russians. Hacking is the crime. The president didn’t hack! He didn’t pay for the hacking.” pic.twitter.com/QMenE1qzxx
