President Donald Trump targeted CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta on his way back to Washington, D.C., from a campaign rally in Tampa, Florida.
Trump retweeted a post from his son Eric Trump referencing his supporters screaming at Acosta hours before the rally began.

Videos from the event show Trump supporters shouting at Acosta, yelling, “CNN sucks” and “go home.” Acosta took his own video of the raucous crowd and voiced concern about his future safety.
Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa. I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt. We should not treat our fellow Americans this way. The press is not the enemy. pic.twitter.com/IhSRw5Ui3R

Acosta has long been a thorn in the side of the president who has publicly rebuked his shouted questions in the public arena. Most recently, Trump refused to take a question from Acosta during a joint press conference in the U.K., saying he does not take questions from “Fake News CNN.”
