…Cindy has voted for our Agenda in the Senate 100% of the time and has my complete and total Endorsement. We need Cindy to win in Mississippi!

Hyde-Smith is considered to be the establishment favored candidate in the tight race against conservative state Sen. Chris McDaniel and former Democratic Rep. Mike Espy, according to The Hill. She was appointed by Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant to replace Cochran after he retired due to health concerns. Hyde-Smith was a Democrat until 2010, a fact her opponents seized upon.
“I could not be more honored to have your endorsement, [President Trump]!” Hyde-Smith tweeted in response to the president.

She also praised certain agenda items such as reducing taxes, securing the U.S.-Mexico border and judicial nominations.
Five of the eight candidates Trump endorsed in special elections won their races.
