President Donald Trump let his frustration with the news media spill out in force on Twitter Thursday when he attacked CNN, NBCNews, and the New York Times.

Trump as usual saved his most scathing rhetoric for CNN who he has been torching since Wednesday. CNN’s saga began in late July when it published a story alleging that Michael Cohen was prepared to tell investigators that Trump had foreknowledge of a 2016 Trump Tower meeting with the Russians. Lanny Davis, Cohen’s lawyer, then admitted on the record that he was a source for the story and publicly recanted his remarks.

The president wasted no time attacking NBCNews and its anchor Lester Holt. Holt interviewed Trump shortly after the firing of former FBI director James Comey in May 2017. The president appears to be suggesting that he manipulated the tape of that interview.

Trump then pivoted to attacking a story in the New York Times that suggested Jared Kushner and his daughter Ivanka Trump were responsible for forcing the departing White House counsel out the door.
