President Donald Trump visited hurricane-ravaged North and South Carolina Wednesday to meet with families affected by the storm.
Trump visited the state of North Carolina and walked the streets of a ravaged neighborhood with ongoing flooding and destroyed homes. The low-lying neighborhood of New Bern, North Carolina was filled with swamped houses filled with debris by the rising waters. Reporters caught a moment where an elderly man in the community approached Trump with a his dog.
The men told the president that he had named his dog after him. “I named my dog after you,” the man said.
“That’s nice,” Trump replied.
According to reporters who witnessed the exchange:

The Carolinas are experiencing massive flooding and property damage after hurricane Florence tore through the coastline over the weekend. At least 37 people were killed in the hurricane, 27 fatalities occurred in in North Carolina.
