Week 5 of the NFL is almost over and drama has been in full swing.
The wheels seem to be falling off for some teams. Talent is being separated from hype, and since this weekend was one of the best sports weekends of the year, football did not disappoint.
Here are some of the best reactions from Week 5, to date:
Turns out, the Patriots aren’t bad and the Colts’ Andrew Luck might be dead (again):
Patriots ate Luck.pic.twitter.com/e07BEA5p6v
— Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) October 5, 2018
why’d we let the Patriots get Josh Gordon
— Rodger Sherman (@rodger) October 5, 2018
Gordon said he’s more than happy to be one of many weapons in the Patriots offense, not the undisputed No. 1 guy: “It’s a relief, if anything.”

Tough break for the entire city of Denver this weekend:
Robby Anderson just ran right past the entire Broncos defense.
76 yards… TOUCHDOWN, @nyjets!

— NFL (@NFL) October 7, 2018
The single most disappointing performance by a Broncos team since….(finish the sentence please).
— Vic Lombardi (@VicLombardi) October 7, 2018
Broncos ran the ball only 17 times, a new season low. Keenum passed 51 times.

That massive Aaron Rodgers contract isn’t looking too hot:
The Lions have two wins this season.
They’ve beaten Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
— Brad Galli (@BradGalli) October 7, 2018
Clay Matthews, Nick Perry, Reggie Gilbert and Kyler Fackrell combined for zero sacks and zero QB hits against the #Lions. Not ideal.
— Michael Cohen (@Michael_Cohen13) October 8, 2018
In 2017 Aaron Rodgers returned (collar bone) but lost at #Panthers. They put him on IR. Lost to Vikings, Lions. In 2018 they have lost to Redskins, Lions. Tied Vikes. Beat Bears, Bills. In their Last 8 games #Packers are 2-5-1. Rodgers played in 6 of those 8 matches. #BadTrend.

The Giants lost, and in even less surprising news, Cam Newton wore something absurd:
@CameronNewton had on cleats with the fuurrrrrr… #KeepPounding pic.twitter.com/fQHmQM5NMg
— The Charlotte Observer (@theobserver) October 7, 2018
Always interesting to see what Panthers quarterback Cam Newton wears to the stadium. He’s really mixing it up from the days of tuxedo like jackets. https://t.co/S6SewVDLYv pic.twitter.com/hACXwVQcKv

The Giants have lost on 61 and 63-yard field goals in back-to-back years.

Even in a sloppy game, Bills rookie Josh Allen looks promising:
Sam Darnold. Josh Allen. Baker Mayfield. 3-0 for rookie QBs. #Nostradamus

Here’s what I learned today. The #Titans are still the same team they were under Mularkey. More fun schemes and a swagger maybe, but still enigmatic and totally capable of dropping a massive egg.

The Steelers remembered what winning looks like, sans Le’Veon Bell:
There are no words. pic.twitter.com/g4MH2R43qW
— Pittsburgh Steelers (@steelers) October 7, 2018
James Conner had 185 total yds. Ben Roethlisberger said, “I think James was tired of hearing about Le’Veon so much.”
Take it FWIW: I don’t think James Conner gives two whips about what other people chatter about. I also think he had a great day bc the Steelers actually used him.

The Browns.

Browns are inching even closer to Super Bowl LIII:
IT’S GOOD! pic.twitter.com/u9bRKoIoTD
— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) October 7, 2018
Look at it this way #Browns fans – the Ravens USED to be the Browns. They just happened to move to a new city, won a Super Bowl and become successful. But really, either way today the “Browns” win today.
— Daren Stoltzfus (@DarenStoltzfus) October 7, 2018
Undefeated at home! @browns #findaway pic.twitter.com/bCz6Fgs4Wp
— Jay Crawford (@JaycrawfordCLE) October 7, 2018
The Browns beating the Ravens is significant for many reasons. One…it’s a division game. Two…the Ravens are one of the better teams in the NFL. Three…I don’t know but Go Browns!

Things got weird during the Dolphins-Bengals matchup:

First drive for the Chiefs against the best defense in football: 10 plays, 73 yards, finished off with a four-yard TD run by Patrick Mahomes. Surgical.

But this was the real highlight of the Jags-Chiefs game:

The Raiders are a quickly sinking ship:
#Raiders allowing 7.0 yards per play, the most after 5 games since the 1970 merger per @pfref
— Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) October 8, 2018
Derek Carr has league-worst 5 INTs on 1st down this season for #Raiders
— Josh Dubow (@JoshDubowAP) October 7, 2018
The Raiders paid Derek Carr instead of Khalil Mack
— Jason Lisk (@JasonLisk) October 7, 2018
The #Raiders have a lot of names you know and associate with being good, but the truth is they are just a bad football team.
— Mike Greenberg (@Espngreeny) October 7, 2018
The Eagles played a very, very ugly game and now have as many wins as the Browns:
Adam Thielen is the first player in the Super Bowl era to record 100+ receiving yards in each of his team’s first 5 games of a season.
Not Rice. Not Moss. Not Owens.

And in this week’s terrible roughing the passer call:

The Rams remain undefeated:

— Keith Britton (@KeithBritton86) October 7, 2018
Rams are now 10-1 under Sean McVay in games away from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
— Andrew Siciliano (@AndrewSiciliano) October 8, 2018
Rams 5-0
Seahawks 2-3
Cardinals 1-4
49ers 1-4Has any division race ever felt less competitive after five weeks than this year’s NFC West?
— Michael David Smith (@MichaelDavSmith) October 7, 2018
Rams and Chiefs are 5-0.
Bengals are 4-1.
Everybody else.— Andrew Siciliano (@AndrewSiciliano) October 7, 2018
The Cardinals topped the 49ers in a game that almost nobody cared about:
The #49ers offense is now currently without:

— Kevin Jones (@Mr_KevinJones) October 7, 2018
The Cowboys and the Texans played one of the ugliest games of football the state of Texas has ever seen:
The Cowboys offense is firmly lodged somewhere between boring and painful.
— Colin Cowherd (@ColinCowherd) October 8, 2018
The Cowboys’ defense obviously played well enough to win that game. But think about this: A week ago, Andrew Luck threw for 464 yards and scored 34 in overtime vs Houston. The Cowboys total offense tonight was 292 and 16 points. JUST SO HARD TO WATCH.

The Saints square up Monday against the Redskins at 8:15 p.m. Some call it Monday Night Football. I’m calling it the Redskins’ only chance to show the world that the NFC East isn’t dead in the water already.
