Attorney Michael Avenatti challenged Donald Trump Jr. to a three-round mixed martial arts fight for charity Tuesday morning.
The story was first reported by Dylan Byers, an NBC News senior media reporter. He and Avenatti discussed the potential philanthropy event at the Vanity Fair Summit.

Trump Jr. has not tweeted about any potential fight with Avenatti, but they have sparred on social media in the past.
Last month, President Donald Trump tweeted about Avenatti, calling him “a total low-life.” Avenatti responded by saying, “I think it is obvious that you barely made it through Penn, which happens to be where I went as well. Let’s both publicly release our complete Penn transcripts on Fri. so people can compare.” (RELATED: Avenatti Challenges The President To Academic Duel – Trump Jr Drops Him With One Tweet)
.@realDonaldTrump – you constantly brag about how smart you are. Meanwhile, I think it is obvious that you barely made it through Penn, which happens to be where I went as well. Let’s both publicly release our complete Penn transcripts on Fri. so people can compare. Agreed?

Trump Jr. weighed in as well, saying “I’ve got a better idea. Why don’t we compare your accomplishments since then. #basta.”
Avenatti originally garnered the spotlight for representing adult entertainer Stormy Daniels.
Daniels alleges that she had an affair with the president and that he paid her to keep quiet before the 2016 presidential election. Avenatti more recently represented Julie Swetnick, the woman who accused Justice Brett Kavanaugh of drugging women and participating in gang rapes.
Avenatti has also reportedly been encouraged by the DNC to run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020.
