Ben Stiller defended Shaun White on Tuesday after the Olympic snowboarder received backlash for dressing up as a character with special needs for Halloween.
White, 32, posted a photo of himself dressed as the “Tropic Thunder” character Simple Jack, played by Ben Stiller in the hit movie back in 2008. (RELATED: Shaun White Is Getting Destroyed For His Halloween Costume This Year [PHOTOS])

White later apologized for his “last minute decision” to dress up as Simple Jack after the Special Olympics condemned his decision to portray the character.

But Ben Stiller swooped in and backed him up.
“Actually Tropic Thunder was boycotted 10 years ago when it came out, and I apologized then. It was always meant to make fun of actors trying to do anything to win awards. I stand by my apology, the movie, Shaun White, And the great people and work of the @SpecialOlympics,” he wrote on Twitter.
