Rovell will leave the company early to join a new gambling site called Action Network.
CNN’s Brian Stelter was the first to break the news.
I hear ESPN sports business reporter @darrenrovell is leaving ESPN… He’s close to a deal with sports betting startup @ActionNetworkHQ to cover the business of betting and help with content strategy…

Rovell will primarily focus on sports and gambling, which is legal in New Jersey, where he lives. He’ll also have some sort of managerial role, although the details are still to be determined.
It’s worth noting that Rovell hasn’t signed the contract yet but is expected to begin employment at the company soon.
Action Network is run by former ESPN editorial director Chad Millman.
