ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith is favored by oddsmakers in a potential fight over Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.

Carr, Smith and ESPN’s Max Kellerman have been beefing over the past few days over criticism of the QB. It’s been pretty entertaining, and it’s only escalating as time goes by.

The young quarterback tweeted Wednesday, “@UFC @DanaWhite hey how do I challenge a couple of these clowns on tv to a fight? I think we should start a business together. Where pro athletes can challenge some of these people to an octagon fight until they give us an answer…. You don’t know me… stop lying.” (RELATED: Jon Gruden Makes Mind-Boggling Comments After Loss To The 49ers)

Well, Carr might not actually want that fight because oddsmakers feel that Smith would be the slight favorite in their numbers released Thursday afternoon.

Look, I don’t care what the odds are, but there’s zero chance Stephen A. Smith could win in a UFC fight against Carr. There’s no chance in hell.

Carr is younger, he’s almost certainly in better shape and he has the stamina of a pro athlete. I’m taking the Raiders quarterback all day.

Now, will this fight actually happen? Almost certainly not. I highly doubt an NFL franchise wants a guy it’s paying $70 million to get punched in the face by an ESPN pundit. Call me crazy, but I’m just not seeing it happen.

It’d be awesome if it did, but I’m not holding my breath. If it did, I’m still riding with Carr. Give the pro athlete over the guy on television every day of the week.
