Fox News host Brian Kilmeade said Tuesday that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “is gutless” for refusing to fight for the Keystone XL Pipeline and acquiescing to President Joe Biden’s cancelation of the project.

“Justin Trudeau is gutless,” Kilmeade said during conversation on “Fox & Friends.”
“Can you imagine being the leader of a country knowing that you cost your country billions of dollars and you don’t even point it out with the president of the United States? He had no problem criticizing President [Donald] Trump.”
Kilmeade asked whether Trump would have spoken to foreign leaders without raising contentious issues. He cited the former president criticizing German Chancellor Angela Merkel for buying natural gas from Russia while accepting American military protection. “Justin Trudeau had an opportunity to say [the pipeline] had zero impact on the environment and you turned it down along with the American steel jobs along with the American pipeline jobs and he just punted. I would be beside myself if I were Canadian.”
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Sunday that he won’t be fighting to restart the Keystone XL pipeline because the Biden administration “has made its decision on that.”
“Are are you going to stop advocating for it here? Do you feel as though the Keystone pipeline is now dead?” NBC host Chuck Todd asked Trudeau.
“I think it’s fairly clear that the U.S. administration has made its decision on that,” Trudeau responded. “We’re much more interested in ensuring that we’re moving forward in ways that are good for both of our countries. On his first day in office, Biden signed an executive order cancelling a federal permit that was crucial to the Keystone XL pipeline’s completion. The pipeline was designed to transport crude oil from Alberta to U.S. refineries. Scrapping the pipeline immediately eliminated thousands of jobs on both sides of the border.
Trudeau said in January that critics of the project’s cancelation would be heard and “considered by the incoming administration at the highest levels.”
