A shooting spree at a Wawa in Pennsylvania that took place Wednesday morning left two dead, including the suspect, authorities said.

Authorities received a call around 4:48 a.m. that shots had been fired, Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin said at a press briefing, according to NBC 10 Philadelphia.

Martin said a man driving a white Toyota Corolla had an “encounter” with a woman driving on Route 22 and opened fire on her car, the outlet reported.

The woman didn’t realize she had been shot at until she pulled into the Wawa, Martin said.

“She came here to get a sandwich, and when she came out of the Wawa, she realized that there was a bullet hole in her car,” Martin said.

Martin said the shooter parked on the side of the Wawa next to a Jeep which was occupied. The suspect then shot at the driver, who was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries. Martin said the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The shooter then approached a truck driver who was pumping gas and fatally shot him, Martin said. (RELATED: Police Officer, 2 Young Boys Among 25 Shot Over Bloody Weekend In Chicago)

Martin said the shootings seemed to be “indiscriminate and unrelated,” according to NBC 10 Philadelphia.

Martin said the shooter then fled the scene on foot about a quarter mile away and appeared to have fatally shot himself in the hand and chest.

Martin said they will not release identities of the victim or suspect until the next of kin has been identified. A gun was recovered at the scene but further details were not immediately available, according to CNN.

A Wawa employee heard the gunshots while taking out the trash and reportedly rushed two customers inside and locked the doors, ordering employees to shelter in place, NBC 10 Philadelphia reported.
