Davante Adams gave the perfect reason for why he won’t hold out heading into a contract year.

The Packers started the team’s mandatory minicamp Tuesday, and while Aaron Rodgers was very noticeably absent, his star receiver has zero intention of missing time or losing money because of fines. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Why? According to Tom Pelissero, Adams says he grew up poor and won’t forfeit anything he’s earned.

I love this answer from Adams. I think it’s something we all could learn from.

You know who are some of the most grateful people on the planet?

People who grew up with nothing. They find even the tiniest bit of success and they cherish it to no end. It’s like when you see people who grew up during the Great Depression never leaving food on their plate.

When you grow up without having anything, you’re much happier for what you do have, in my experience.

Adams might not have grown up rich, but he’s damn sure rich now. He’s entering the final year of a $58 million contract, and he’s 100% going to get a new deal.

The Packers are going to take care of him, and he’s not going to find himself in a situation where he’s fined. If only a certain teammate who plays quarterback could learn a lesson or two!

Props to Adams for keeping things in perspective and staying true to his humble roots.
