The first trailer for the highly-anticipated “Sopranos” prequel “The Many Saints of Newark” has dropped, and it looks outstanding.

The plot of the film about Tony Soprano’s rise to power, according to the trailer’s YouTube description, is as follows:

Young Anthony Soprano is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities—and whose influence over his nephew will help make the impressionable teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we’ll later come to know: Tony Soprano.

Damn, that trailer was nothing but pure electricity injected right into my soul. I can’t remember the last time I saw a trailer and was this juiced once the screen turned black.

This movie is going to be absolute fire, and it was awesome seeing so many recognizable characters from the hit HBO series in the trailer. Their rises to power are going to be epic to watch unfold.

As many of you know, I dove into “The Sopranos” during the coronavirus pandemic when I needed something new to watch, and it didn’t disappoint at all.

It’s one of the greatest shows ever made, and the ending will continue to be talked about for decades to come.

Now, we get to find out how it all started when “The Many Saints of Newark” hits HBO Max and arrives in theaters starting Oct. 1. I can’t wait!
