DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND INSECURITY… ‘Mass Catch & Release Continues’: Mayorkas Confirms Thousands Released In US, Many Not Tested For COVID (VIDEO)

Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas admitted on “Fox News Sunday” that nearly all of the Haitian migrants who have been apprehended illegally crossing the Southern border in recent weeks have been released into the country.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin tweeted Sunday, “Mayorkas admits that 12,000+ Haitian illegal immigrants were released into the US from Del Rio. They were not subject to any vaccine or testing mandates. They were not tested before release. Haiti has a vax rate of less than 1%. Mass catch & release continues under Biden admin.”

Currently, of those Haitian migrants, around 12,400 are waiting to have their case heard by an immigration judge and 5,000 are still being processed by the Department of Homeland Security, according to Fox News.

FLASHBACK… FROM FRIDAY…

WE’VE GOT A NUMBER… 17,400 HAITIAN ILLEGALS REMAIN OR RELEASED INTO US… CHUCK ROSS:

Mayorkas says ~30,000 Haitians have been encountered at the border.

*2,000 have been flown back to Haiti.

*12,400 remain in U.S. for removal proceedings

*8,000 chose to remain in Mexico

*5,000 are in custody of DHS, which is weighing whether they will be removed or stat

FLASHBACK TO LAST MONDAY… SO THESE WERE LIES…

MAYORKAS, IN DEL RIO:

(4:14) The majority of migrants continue to be expelled under CDC’s Title 42 authority. Those who cannot be expelled under that authority and do not have a legal basis to remain will be placed in expedited removal proceedings.

(6:00) If you come to the United States illegally, you will be returned. Your journey will not succeed and you will be endangering your life and your family’s lives.

(17:11) We are communicating, as we have now for months, loudly and clearly, that irregular migration, the perilous journey is not the journey to take. One risks one’s life, the life of one’s loved ones, for a mission that will not succeed.

‘Why Didn’t You Build, Forgive Me, A Wall?’: Chris Wallace Confronts Mayorkas On ‘Flood’ Of Migrants At The Border (VIDEO)

“Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace confronted DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on the “flood” of migrants coming across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Mayorkas argued during a Sunday morning interview that illegal immigration was a problem that had spanned administrations of both parties, but Wallace pushed back, saying that by the numbers, things had gotten worse under President Joe Biden’s watch. […]

“You say 30,000 people walked across that dam into Del Rio in the last 17 days. Question: Why didn’t you stop them?” Wallace pressed again.

“We encounter them at the border. That’s where we encounter them, Chris,” Mayorkas replied.

“Why didn’t you stop them from coming into the country?” Wallace asked.

“We did,” Mayorkas insisted. “We encountered them, they gathered – they assembled in that one location in Del Rio, Texas, and we applied the laws. We applied the public health law under the CDC’s authority, and we applied immigration –”

Wallace did not let the question go, asking again, “My question is why did you allow them in the country in the first place? Why didn’t you build, forgive me, a wall or a fence to stop them from walking – the flood of people coming across the dam, it looks like a highway that allows them to cross the Rio Grande.”

“It is the policy of this administration, we do not agree with the building of the wall,” Mayorkas insisted, adding that allowing individuals to make their claims for humanitarian relief was “one of our proudest traditions.”

Tapper Challenges Mayorkas On CBP Horse Patrol: ‘How Can DHS Claim To Have An Independent Investigation?’ (VIDEO)

“How can DHS claim to have an independent investigation into these Border Patrol agents when the president says ‘those people will pay’ and you say the images ‘horrified us’?” Tapper asked.

“Jake, I think it’s quite clear that what the images suggest horrified the American public,” Mayorkas replied, going on to argue that facts rather than public perception would be what determined the outcome of the investigation.

“What those images suggest, what they appeared to portray was horrifying, and that I think deserves attention,” Mayorkas repeated, adding, “That is quite different than fact determinations and I will tell you, I served as a federal prosecutor for 12 years, and we conducted independent investigations despite what appearances might have been and the public outcry about them.”

“But that’s the thing. Some of the initial descriptions of those images were just patently false,” Tapper pressed. “There’s now video out there that provides more context. Having seen the video, are you certain that there was actually wrongdoing?”

“I am going to let those investigators make that determination, and then that determination will drive the outcome of the investigation,” Mayorkas said again.

DAILY MAIL: Kamala Harris hires Jen Psaki’s brother-in-law as adviser to help her through border crisis and keep her presidential aspirations alive as her approval numbers plunge

Vice President Kamala Harris has expanded her team with new senior advisors, including the brother-in-law of White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, as she faces public relations challenges over the border crisis.

Harris in recent months hired Lorraine Voles and Adam Frankel, both of whom worked with her transition team, to assist with ‘organizational development, strategic communications and long-term planning,’ a White House official told the Washington Post.

Frankel, who worked as a speechwriter for former President Barack Obama, is married to Psaki’s sister Stephanie Psaki, a senior adviser at the Department of Health and Human Services.

The new public relations hires come as Harris, who is viewed as likely to seek the Democratic presidential nomination, faces falling approval ratings and criticism over her handling of the border.

KAMALA’S TIME AS BORDER CZAR HAS BEEN AN UNMITIGATED DISASTER… KAREN TOWNSEND:

Since appointing Kamala to oversee the Biden border crisis, the crisis has only gotten worse. We saw a peak in the crisis over the course of two weeks as 30,000 Haitian migrants flooded into Del Rio, Texas. Thousands of those migrants are now unaccounted for and others have been released into the interior of the United States. The catastrophe cannot be overstated. Kamala has not bothered to visit the southern border at all to see the problems facing Border Security and ICE agents, much less local law enforcement agencies in border communities. She made one trip to El Paso, many hundreds of miles away from the Rio Grande Valley where the true crisis is, and brought along DHS Secretary Mayorkas, also mostly missing-in-action in securing the southern border.

‘They Do Not Understand’: MSNBC Host Wants White Women ‘Held Accountable’ For Restrictive Abortion Laws (VIDEO)

MSNBC host Tiffany Cross argued Saturday that white women should be held responsible for laws restricting access to abortion.

During a regular segment on her show titled “Make It Make Sense,” Cross argued that white women who voted for Republicans were responsible at least in part for laws that limited abortion access like Texas’ recent heartbeat bill. […]

“But you know who else needs to be held accountable? The group of white women who have overwhelmingly voted Republican for decades, enabling these conservative lawmakers to continuously attempt to pass restrictive reproductive laws,” Cross continued.

Bill Maher Rips The Idea Of ‘Purposefully Fragmenting Things By Race’ In America (VIDEO)

“But I am what you might call an old school liberal who was brought up with the crazy idea that segregating by race is bad. That’s what I was talking about,” Maher told his audience Friday when talking about the national anthem debate.

He further added, “Symbols of unity matter and purposefully fragmenting things by race reinforces a terrible message, that we’re two nations hopelessly drifting apart from each other. That’s not where we were even 10 years ago, and it’s not where we should be now.”

MORE EVIDENCE THAT PETER DASZAK CAN’T BE TRUSTED… ATLANTIC: The Lab-Leak Debate Just Got Even Messier

The latest piece of evidence came out this week in the form of a set of murkily sourced PDFs, with their images a bit askew. The main one purports to be an unfunded research grant proposal from Peter Daszak, the president of the EcoHealth Alliance, a global nonprofit focused on emerging infectious diseases, that was allegedly submitted to DARPA in early 2018 (and subsequently rejected), for a $14.2 million project aimed at “defusing the threat of bat-borne coronaviruses.” Released earlier this week by a group of guerrilla lab-leak snoops called DRASTIC, the proposal includes a plan to study potentially dangerous pathogens by generating full-length, infectious bat coronaviruses in a lab and inserting genetic features that could make coronaviruses better able to infect human cells. (Daszak and EcoHealth did not respond to requests for comment on this story.)

The document seems almost tailor-made to buttress one specific theory of a laboratory origin: that SARS-CoV-2 wasn’t simply brought into a lab by scientists and then released by accident, but rather pieced together in a deliberate fashion. In fact, the work described in the proposal fits so well into that narrative of a “gain-of-function experiment gone wrong” that some wondered if it might be too good to be true. Central figures in the coronavirus-origins debate were involved: Among Daszak’s listed partners on the grant were Ralph Baric of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an American virologist known for doing coronavirus gain-of-function studies in his lab, and Shi Zhengli, the renowned virus hunter from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. (Shi Zhengli has not responded to a request for comment. A UNC spokesperson responded on behalf of Baric, noting that “the grant applicant and DARPA are best positioned to explain the proposal.”) […]

In May 2020, only a few months into the pandemic, EcoHealth’s Peter Daszak ridiculed discussions of the furin cleavage site and whether it might be bioengineered as the ranting of conspiracy theorists. Six months later, Daszak was involved in two major, international investigations into the pandemic’s origins, organized by the World Health Organization and the British medical journal The Lancet. Now it appears that, just a few years earlier, he’d delivered a detailed grant proposal to the U.S. government, with himself as principal investigator, that described doing exactly that bioengineering work. “It’s just shocking,” Chan said.

The pattern here is unmistakable: At every turn, what could be important information has been withheld.
