A headless human torso was found in a bus freezer in Louisiana amid a police search for a missing woman, The Associated Press reported Thursday.

The police were conducting a search for a missing woman when they discovered the dismembered human remains in the freezer on the bus near a New Orleans home, according to the AP.

Authorities have arrested 34-year-old Benjamin Beale for not cooperating with their investigation, WDSU News reported. The man lives at the home where the remains were found, the outlet reported.

Beale was taken into police custody on an obstruction of justice of a death investigation charge and multiple drug charges, according to WDSU News. Beale’s drug charges stemmed from police discovering what they believed was a meth lab on his property.

The charges were outlined in a court affidavit, WDSU News reported. (RELATED: Unidentified Body Found In A Suitcase By Neuse River)

Micah Dardar, a Louisiana man, said he thinks the remains police discovered were his missing wife, Julia, according to Fox 8. Dardar said she battled a meth addiction and left him last year after the family asked her to seek help, the outlet reported. He told police she had been living with Beale, according to WDSU News.

Dardar said he reported his wife missing in December, Fox 8 reported. The police have not yet released the identity of the remains they discovered.
