Rapper Obie Trice was arrested and admitted to jail at 5:00 p.m. Thursday after being charged with using his telephone to allegedly threaten his girlfriend.

The deputy chief at the West Bloomfield Police Department, Curt Lawson, indicated that after Trice and his female partner broke up, Trice allegedly used his phone to text threatening messages to her, according to TMZ. He reportedly proceeded to threaten some of her family members through text as well.

Trice allegedly also made a number of unwelcome personal visits to the home of his ex-girlfriend’s parents and they proceeded to call the police to assist in removing him from their property, according to TMZ. After repeated, unwanted contact and alleged threats, the police issued a misdemeanor warrant, which ultimately resulted in his arrest, reported the outlet.

Trice appeared in 48th District Court in Bloomfield Hills and is being held on a $10,000 bond, according to court records obtained by The Detroit News.
