Professional golfer Shane Lowry made me proud on Sunday, and not just for his one-shot victory at the BMW PGA Championship.

This was Lowry’s first time at the British Open since 2019, according to CBS. Lowry and his team decided to celebrate his epic win in the most Irish (and Welsh, Scottish, and definitely Australian) way possible: going out on the lash (i.e. getting drunk).

In a video shared on Twitter, Lowry, who has the deepest, most velvety Irish accent ever, told followers, “I’m the BMW PGA Champion, and this is my first drink,” before slurping down what appeared to be a pint with ice.

Next up was his coach, Neil, who cheers’d with a pint of Guinness while wearing arguably the most ridiculous hat I’ve ever seen. He was quickly followed by Brian “Bo” Martin, Lowry’s caddie, also choosing a night of Guinness. Brian, Lowry’s manager, was the final “first drink” in the video.

The “First Drink, Last Drink” game hasn’t quite hit the social media stride it deserves at the time of writing. My friend Will did a version of it for his birthday a few weeks back, and it was hysterical seeing how boring everyone was at the start of the evening versus the slurring giggles surrounding everyone’s last drink — and Lowry’s video is no different.

By their final drink, the coach was sipping red wine, proving himself to be an absolute animal who mixes Guinness with red wine on a night out. However, it was Bo who really got into the spirit of things.

By the time he was on his last drink, Bo was more interested in telling the cameraperson, lovingly, “you can all fuck off,” followed by a line of incoherent swears and mumbles. It was beautiful. (RELATED: Video Of Trump Goes Viral After ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Chant Breaks Out At LIV Golf)

It looks like Brian picked up the tab for the night out, while I have a sneaking suspicion that Lowry cheated in his final drink video. He was still speaking in full sentences and seemed aware of what was going on. Not quite as traditional as I’d have hoped, but it looked like Bo drank enough for all four.
