Members of the Los Angeles City Council introduced a resolution following a series of antisemitic attacks, according to the Jewish News Syndicate.

The resolution, introduced by council member Paul Koretz and seconded by council member Bob Blumenfield, would adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) definition of antisemitism and require city departments to incorporate it into the work place, according to the Jewish News Syndicate. The proposed resolution comes after the Goyim Defense League hung a “Kayne is right about the Jews” banner on the freeway. “We must continue to fight antisemitism and all forms of hate,” Blumenfield said in a tweet in response to the banner. “It’s imperative to call these sorts of displays what they are: dangerous, disgusting and vile. Everyone must stand up, join together and combat this wave of antisemitism in LA.”

The IHRA defines antisemitism as “hatred towards Jews” including any “rhetorical or physical manifestations” toward Jewish institutions, individuals and communities. Examples in the IHRA’s definition includes justifying the killing or harming of Jewish people in the name of religion and accusing them of exaggerating the Holocaust.

In October, sandbags filled with antisemitic flyers were distributed throughout neighborhoods in Los Angeles, the Jewish News Syndicate reported.

Blumenfield and Koretz did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
