Famous model and actress Julia Fox said her relationship with Kanye West was a farce and claimed she only dated West to “get him off Kim Kardashian’s back” in a TikTok video Monday.

Fox previously clarified she “wasn’t in love” with West, and is now claiming she did Kardashian a favor by distracting West from their contentious divorce battle that was unfolding in front of the press, according to a video Fox posted to TikTok. “I had this thought, and I was like, ‘Oh my god. Maybe I can get him off of Kim’s case,’” Fox said.

Fox denied allegations that her relationship with West had any legitimacy shortly after online trolls accused her of “dating a famously violent misogynist and anti-Semite” on social media. She instead stuck to her story of being a decoy for Kardashian.

“Like, ‘Maybe I can distract him, like, just get him to like me,’” Fox said on her perspective of her relationship with West. “And I knew … if anyone can do it, it’s me, because when I set my mind to something, I do it,” she said in the video.

Fox dated West from January to February, but claimed to not have responded to his initial advances.

“He was texting me. I wasn’t really answering,” she said.

“I was like, ‘I don’t really want to hook up with a celebrity again.’ Like, nothing ever comes of it. … They’re kinda boring, like, they’re not what you think they’re going to be like,” Fox continued. As for the good parts of this apparently faux relationship she had with West, Fox said it was pretty straightforward.

“We only talked about clothes and weird ideas and plans for the future and our hopes and dreams for childhood and education and, like, it was really beautiful, guys,” she said. Fox added she promptly ended the relationship when West started his online rants about Pete Davidson, according to Page Six.

The model indicated she originally thought she could “help” West, but said it soon became apparent there was nothing she could do to prevent him from lashing out at people on social media.

“It didn’t work, and now we’re here, but that being said, I really deeply respect the man as an artist,” Fox continued. “I don’t want to shit on that. I don’t want to reduce his whole career to his really bad moments.”
