Well, we have a little bit of drama going on here before the Big 10 Championship between Michigan and Purdue.

Mazi Smith, who is a defensive tackle for the University of Michigan, has been hit with a felony weapons charge after an incident that took place Oct. 7 in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County court records show, according to mLIVE.

Smith was hit with the charge Nov. 30 in the 15th District Court in Ann Arbor, following an issued warrant, according to the outlet. Things are still unclear about the exact details of the alleged incident, however, the mLIVE noted that the charge appears to have come from a traffic stop that took place in town.

Despite the drama, none of this will have an impact on the Wolverines, as Smith will continue to practice and play for the team.

When I looked on Twitter about this situation, I noticed a lot of people complaining about how it took two months for this story to come out, with a lot of people blaming the University of Michigan for this entire ordeal.

I don’t know what happened, but I do know this: I have to give the university kudos for not only keeping things on the down low for nearly two whole months likely to protect their interests in football dominance, but when it did all come to light, they immediately shot up two middle fingers to everybody and pretty much said, “Don’t care, he’s playing anyway.” (RELATED: College Football Playoffs Will Expand To 12 Teams Sooner Than Expected)

Granted, I might be a little bit biased because I took classes through the University of Michigan and built up love for their sports teams as a result, but let’s ignore that little detail.

This story is hilarious, and quite frankly, I respect the Wolverines’ drive to win that natty!

Can an entire university be a G?

If so, the University of Michigan is a G.
