Famous singer and musician Graham Nash said during a recent interview on the “Kyle Meredith With…” podcast that David Crosby died shortly after contracting COVID.

The Crosby, Stills & Nash singer said that Crosby contracted COVID for the second time just prior to his death. “He was rehearsing for a show to do in Los Angeles with a full band,” Nash said. “After three days of rehearsals, he felt a little sick. And he’d already had COVID, and he had COVID again. And so he went home and decided that he would take a nap, and he never woke up. But he died in his bed, and that is fantastic,” he said during the “Kyle Meredith With…” podcast.

Crosby died Jan. 18 at the age of 81. His death was announced the next day on Jan. 19, but the exact cause of death was not released to the general public at the time. It was previously stated that Crosby died following a “long illness,” but his family did not provide further insight about what he was suffering from, according to Billboard.

Nash discussed that he was in the midst of making peace with Crosby before he passed away, after being famously estranged from his friend and former bandmate for several years.

“I mean, the fact that he made it to 81 was astonishing,” Nash said. (RELATED: Famous Actor From ‘Elf’ Dead At Age 81)

“But [his death] was a shock. It was kind of like an earthquake, you know? You get the initial shock and then you figure out that you survived. But these aftershocks kept coming up, and they’re diminishing in size as I go along,” he said on the podcast.
