Eva Mendes revealed in early April why she and her beau Ryan Gosling don’t do red carpet events together.
Mendes and Gosling have been together for 12 years after first meeting “way” prior to being cast together in “The Place Beyond The Pines.” In an Instagram post shared in early April, Mendes gave a rare public comment on their long-term romance.
“Magic is real,” Mendes wrote in the caption of a post featuring their characters from the movie. “We did not meet on set. The magic started way before but here’s a little magic captured on camera. Gracias to the incredible director Derek Cianfrance.”

When a fan asked whether Mendes would be joining Gosling on the red carpet for his upcoming film, “Barbie,” the superstar actually responded! “What a cool comment, thank you,” she replied. “But we don’t do those things together. Like these photos I’ve been posting, I’m only comfortable posting because it’s already out there.”
She followed up by noting that “By ‘not comfortable,’ I mean exposing our very private life that we value. I’m still dying to do another movie with him though …”
Mendes and Gosling have been almost silent to the public about their relationship, despite sharing two children together. But Mendes let slip during a 2022 interview with “TODAY Australia” that she and Gosling tied the knot at some point in the past. “I’m loving it here,” Mendes replied. “Everybody is amazing, everybody is welcoming us, it’s been so beautiful. My husband Ryan is here … and our children are here, we’re having the best time.”
She also got a tattoo that read “de Gosling” back in November 2022, further suggesting the pair had finally wed!
