Holy cow! This is insane!

Things turned ugly very quickly after an Illinois youth wrestling match that saw a wrestler completely suckerpunch and knock out his opponent after getting destroyed in a match. The punch was so vicious that police have even responded with an investigation.

Located in Oak Park, Illinois, Oak Park River Forest High School hosted the “Beat The Streets” tournament April 8, and at one point during the event, Maine West High School’s Hafid Alicea was beaten by SPAR Wrestling Academy’s Cooper Corder. And not only did Alicea take a loss, he was absolutely hammered — evident of the 14-2 final match score.

After the contest, the referee brought both of the wrestlers to the center of the mat to shake hands and announce Corder as the winner, which is custom in wrestling.

However, things went horribly wrong, as Alicea acted like he was going to shake Corder’s hand, but instead punched him hard right in the face and sent him down to the floor.

Parents were absolutely livid at Alicea, screaming in his direction before ultimately running over to assist Corder. The referee, making sure nothing escalated between parents and students, sent Alicea matside away from the scene. (RELATED: Brawl Breaks Out In California Toyota Dealership Between Managers)

Corder reportedly suffered a broken nose, according to TMZ Sports, and unfortunately will be forced to wear a special face mask when he wrestles in upcoming matches.

Talking with TMZ Sports, an Oak Park Police Dept. spokesperson said Tuesday that the parents of both minors are cooperating with their investigation.
