Legendary actor Robert De Niro is a father again at age 79, according to a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight (ET).
The Golden Globe winner let the secret out while speaking with a reporter Monday, who mentioned De Niro is a father of six children. “Seven, actually. I just had a baby,” De Niro said during the interview. The actor’s representative also confirmed the news of the birth to Page Six.
The spokesperson from De Niro’s camp did not provide any additional details about the name or gender of the baby, nor did they say how old the newborn is, according to Page Six.
The interview continued at a fast pace following the revelation of the birth. There was no mention of who baby No. 7’s mother is, but some reports indicate the famous actor’s girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, seemingly had a baby bump during one of their public outings after a dinner date in April.
De Niro and Chen were first rumored to be an item in 2021, when he celebrated his 78th birthday with the New-York based martial arts instructor, according to Page Six.
Chen and De Niro worked together on “The Intern” in 2015 and are believed to have traveled to Spain together in the past. (RELATED: Derek Jeter Announces Birth Of His First Son)
De Niro had his first child, a daughter, with then-wife Diahnne Abbott in 1971. The couple then had a son named Raphael a few years later. He shares twin sons Aaron and Julian with actress Toukie Smith, as well as a son and daughter with ex-wife Grace Hightower.
