A baby black bear shocked beachgoers in Florida after emerging from the water and making its way past people on the crowded beach.
Video footage shared by FOX 35 shows the bear enjoying a swim in the water without a care in the world. The animal was completely indifferent to the fact that there were swarms of people swimming nearby. Families and sun-worshippers were completely unaware that the bear was out for a swim until the not-so-little baby emerged from the water and made his way past stunned onlookers as he walked across the sand in Destin, Florida.
The bear swam among the people for quite some time before people started taking notice that he was out for a dip with them in the Gulf of Mexico waters.
Video of the bear started circulating on social media, Sunday as people around the globe tuned in to see this unexpected brush with wildlife.
Steffani Saddler was returning from scuba diving when she observed the floating bear.
“There’s a bear in the water. How crazy,” Saddler said in a video she took of the water-loving cub.
“I guess he’s on vacation too,” someone near her said.
“My reaction was definitely a bit of a shock because that was the last thing I expected to see swimming out there,” Saddler said to FOX 35 News. (RELATED: Heidi Klum’s Dogs Die Under Suspicious Circumstances)
Eventually the bear tired of swimming and made is way across the sand, making a more public appearance and catching beachgoers completely off-guard.
The bear made its way toward a greenspace and away from the crowd.
