Former New York Post Deputy Politics Editor Emma-Jo Morris could not contain her laughter when she recalled the falsehoods spread about the Hunter Biden laptop story she broke ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

Morris spoke Thursday about the Hunter Biden laptop story being censored in her opening statement at a hearing held by the House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. She described a debunked letter by 51 former intelligence officials in October 2020 alleging that the Hunter Biden laptop was a “Russian information operation.” (RELATED: Hunter Biden Admits Laptop Data Is Real After White House, Media Insisted For Months That It Wasn’t)

“On October nineteenth, five days after the post began publishing, Politico ran a story headlined ‘Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say,’ God I can’t even say about with a straight face you know,” Morris said as she broke out into laughter.

“Politico prints it a letter completely uncritically from veteran members of the US intelligence community, falsely claiming that the Post expose a has quote ‘all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,’ like God,” she added while continuing to laugh.

The Hunter Biden laptop contents were authenticated by the Daily Caller News Foundation shortly after the New York Post’s reporting was censored by Twitter. The laptop contents have since been verified by the New York Times, Washington Post, CBS News and other media outlets.

Lawyers representing Hunter Biden appeared to admit the data from his laptop is real in a February letter written to the Department of Justice.

“Mr. Mac Isaac has admitted to gaining access to our client’s personal computer data without Mr. Biden’s consent. Mr. Mac Isaac has admitted to copying that data without Mr. Biden’s consent, and Mr. Mac Isaac has admitted to distributing copies of that data to the political enemies of Mr. Biden’s father, without Mr. Biden’s consent,” Biden attorney Abbe Lowell wrote.

“These unlawful actions caused the widespread publication, manipulation, and exploitation of Mr. Biden’s most personal information.”

Lowell was referring to Delaware computer repairman John Mac Isaac who obtained Biden’s laptop after the younger Biden left it at Mac Isaac’s store. Mac Isaac has signed paperwork showing Biden left the laptop in April 2019, months before he alerted authorities about its existence.

Testimony from former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morrell to the House Judiciary Committee in April showed Biden Secretary of State Tony Blinken orchestrated the infamous letter published by Politico. Morrell admitted that he played a central role in getting former intelligence officials to sign the letter because he wanted Joe Biden to win the 2020 presidential election.
