Cillian Murphy Openly Declares He’d Be Willing To Play Ken In The Next ‘Barbie’

Famous actor Cillian Murphy, who stars in the movie “Oppenheimer,” publicly revealed he’d consider playing Ken in “Barbie 2.”

The highly anticipated “Oppenheimer” has been going head-to-head with “Barbie” in theaters, with both films proving to be box office hits. Murphy seems to be ready to join the other side and try his luck playing the role of Ken.

“Would I play a Ken in Barbie 2? Sure, yeah,” he said during a recent interview with Cinéfilos.

The 47-year-old actor who previously starred as Thomas Shelby in “Peaky Blinders” chuckled as he stated his willingness to jump in to play the role of Ken, but followed-up with a one-liner that suggested he may be seriously contemplating the new venture.

“Let’s read the script and let’s have a conversation,” Murphy said during the interview.

He went on to express his interest in watching  “Barbie,” and spoke of the significance of the success of both movies in theaters across the globe.

“I can’t wait to see it,” he said about “Barbie.”

“You know, you’ve got all these great movies happening this summer.”

The internet has coined the head-to-head competition “Barbenheimer” to mark the competitive release of both movies July 21.

The two films continue to smash box office records. Tickets were already selling out several weeks before their release date.
