Kimberly Van Gundy, who is the wife of legendary NBA head coach and current NBA broadcaster Stan Van Gundy, unexpectedly died last week. She was 61.
“Kimberly’s kindness and love for all around her was shown through her charitable works and activism,” read her obituary. “In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando or Crossroad’s Corral in Kim’s memory.”
Kimberly is survived by Stan — her husband of 25 years — and the couple’s four children: Shannon, Michael, Alison and Kelly. She is also survived by her parents Jane Dennan and Ernest Abbott, four siblings and 13 nephews and nieces.

“I lost my big sister Kimberly Abbott Van Gundy on Wednesday. She was one of my favorite people and I will forever miss her. Rest in peace, Kim,” said Kimberly’s sister Catherine in a statement last week via TMZ.
An undergrad at Castleton State College, Kimberly met Stan at the school in 1984, a year after he was hired as the head coach of the basketball team.

Kimberly went on to earn her Master of Education in Counseling at Fordham University.
Stan Van Gundy works for TNT as an NBA color commentator and was previously the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and Miami Heat.
