Back in 2022, “Yellowstone” star Cole Hauser told IMDB he’d love to see Morgan Freeman appear in an episode of the hit cowboy series. And his wish somewhat came true.

“I would love to have Morgan Freeman,” Hauser told IMDB. “I just did a movie with him, and he loves the show and loves the Western world. As you know, he’s done some pretty spectacular stuff when it comes to it, but I’d really love to see Morgan Freeman on the show, and it would make him happy, and I love him dearly, so I would want to make him happy.”

Apparently Freeman was pretty funny about the whole thing. “[Freeman] was like, ‘Well, I could just come and play your uncle, Cole.’ I said, ‘Well, fair enough. I have curly hair, you have curly hair, we’d get away with it!” Hauser continued.

But it turned out “Yellowstone” co-creator Taylor Sheridan had other plans for the superstar. Instead of bringing Freeman into the “Yellowstone” universe, he placed him in one of the best roles in his latest series “Special Ops: Lioness.

Although Freeman’s role was technically small in terms of screentime, he had the best lines of the entire show — except for maybe Michael Kelly, with whom he shared most of his scenes. (RELATED: Ben Affleck Is ‘Disturbed’ By J-Lo’s Obsession With ‘Yellowstone’)

But we still have the second half of “Yellowstone” season five left to go … so maybe we’ll get that cameo, or even a full-on role from Freeman after all. Sheridan is known for using the same actors throughout many of his productions, so it could happen!
