Celebrity realtor Mauricio Umansky opened up to People on Wednesday about going through a rough patch in his marriage to longtime “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards.
Umansky, 53, has been married to 54-year-old Richards “for 27 years,” he told the magazine. “We’re having a bit of a rough patch,” he added.
Umansky said he was happily married to Richards for 26 years and that this last 27th year of marriage has been more difficult. Rumors of alleged infidelity by both parties have circulated on the internet in recent weeks, including allegations Richards was romantically involved with Morgan Wade, a 28-year-old friend of hers, though Richards has denied the rumors. Umansky previously called rumors of him divorcing Richards “stupid,” according to People.
“She and I currently are separated, but we are not throwing in the towel,” Umansky told the magazine. The couple share three biological daughters together and also raised a daughter from Richards’ previous marriage. “It’s very difficult to be in the public eye and have so much inquisition when you’re going through something tough,” he continued. “My wife is just being looked at so intensely and it’s really not fair. She’s just a person. She’s an amazing human, she’s my best friend and she does not deserve to be so judged of everything she does.”

In the upcoming 13th season of “Real Housewives,” Richards’ castmates confront her about what she would do if Umanksy ever cheated on her, according to E! News. “I don’t know,” she replies.
Umansky promised the public “we will let you know” how things turn out between them, saying, “We’re not hiding anything from you.”
