“Barbie” director Greta Gerwig reportedly married Noah Baumbach in a very simple ceremony at City Hall.

Sources close to the couple reported hearing Gerwig share the story of their vow exchange with someone she was speaking with. She was reportedly chatting while backstage at Billy Joel’s concert at Madison Square Garden Tuesday night, and gushing about how she had just gotten married at City Hall. “They were both glowing and celebrating. They are so happy!” the source said, according to Page Six.

The insider noted that Gerwig looked “so gorgeous” as a bride, and said she wore a white suit skirt and jacket to her wedding.

“She looked like a bride. He looked handsome in his suit,” the source said, according to Page Six.

Gerwig, a prominent director that is basking in the glory of her wildly successful film, “Barbie,” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has been dating Baumbach since 2011.

Baumbach is credited as being a talented director and screenwriter, whose major credits include, “Mr. Jealousy,” and “Kicking and Screaming.” He was nominated for an Oscar for his work on “Marriage Story.”

“Barbie” was the top grossing movie of 2023. It brought in $1,441,817,322 worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. In spite of her incredible success, it seems Gerwig was content with a wedding without the frills, opting for the simplicity of the City Hall formalities instead of an over-the-top affair.

The pair have been engaged since 2020, but have kept discussions about their wedding private, until now. They currently share a four-year-old son together, named Harold. Baumbach was previously married to actress Jennifer Jason Leigh, and shares a thirteen-year-old son with her. This is Gerwig’s first marriage, according to Page Six.
