Twitch streamer and influencer, Richard Tyler Blevins, known by the moniker, Ninja, revealed he was diagnosed with skin cancer, Tuesday.

The pro-gamer said his wife, Jessica, scheduled an appointment with a dermatologist for his annual checkup, and the doctors made the shocking discovery. Ninja took to social media to tell his fans a mole on the bottom of his foot was removed as a precaution, and the results came back indicating it was a melanoma, which is a form of skin cancer.

The 32-year-old posted a lengthy message on Twitter with further details. “Alright I’m still in a bit of shock but want to keep you all updated,” he wrote.

Ninja explained the details of his recent health journey.

“A few weeks ago I went in to a dermatologist for an annual skin/mole check that Jess proactively scheduled for me. There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful,” he continued.

“It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages,” Ninja wrote to his Twitter feed.

The famous streamer indicated that this medical experience is still ongoing, and he is awaiting further results and information.

“I had another dark spot appear near it, so today they biopsied that and removed a larger area around the melanoma with the hopes that under the microscope they will see clear non-melanoma edges and we will know we got it,” Ninja added.

He went on to offer some advice to his fanbase, in hopes of being able to help others by creating awareness about staying on top of their health.

“I’m grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups,” he wrote. (RELATED: Comedian Hamish Blake Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Receiving Frightening Diagnosis)
