The Detroit Lions agreed to a massive four-year extension with wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown worth over $120 million, sources told ESPN.
The deal reportedly guarantees him $77 million, according to the source. This makes him the highest paid receiver in the NFL, ESPN reported.

I am such a massive fan of the man they call the sun god and I think this deal will finally put his name on the radar of casual fans who may not know him. When you get Tyreek Hill money, people start to notice who you are. And notice him they should.
St. Brown has been a revelation for QB Jared Goff and the rest of Detroit faithful. Since the Lions pulled a highway robbery by drafting him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft he’s been electric. The former USC Trojan has over 3,500 yards in his first three seasons along with 21 receiving touchdowns.
2023 was his best year yet, as his 1,515 yards trailed only Hill and Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb for tops in the league. Now, with a fat check in his back pocket, St. Brown will look to take the Lions to new heights. (RELATED: Justice Is Served! Reggie Bush Is Getting His Heisman Back)
While a successful NFL franchise requires a lot more than just one guy to achieve its goal, the Lions recent ascendancy corresponds directly with their drafting of Amon-Ra. His rookie year they went an abysmal 3-13-1. But the next year, as his star rose, so did their record, as they finished a respectable 9-8. Then last season they had their best season in decades, finishing with 12 wins for the first time since 1991. They even made it all the way to the NFC Championship game before falling to the San Francisco 49ers.
They may have come up short last year, but with St. Brown, at just 24-years-old, manning the middle of the field, the future is very bright in D-town.
