And here we are, ladies and gentlemen: Right back at J.J. Redick.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday morning that former NBA star J.J. Redick will “formally interview” for the Los Angeles Lakers‘ head coaching vacancy this weekend. Sources also told ESPN that if Redick has a strong performance in his interview, he will be placed at the forefront of the organization’s hunt for a new skipper. Last month, the current ESPN NBA analyst had a meeting with Lakers vice president and general manager Rob Pelinka for over 90 minutes at the draft combine in Chicago. Redick will now be headed to Los Angeles where the Lakers will go deeper into their head coaching position, and on top of that, owner Jeanie Buss will be included this time, per ESPN.

In the past few days, Redick and Pelinka have spoken on the phone, with Redick coming to an understanding about Pelinka’s chase of UConn men’s basketball head coach Dan Hurley that temporarily halted Redick’s chances, according to the four-letter network.

I called it … just recently, I said that we’ll end up back at J.J. Redick, and here we go.

And if you’re the Los Angeles Lakers, he would make the most sense. I know the Jay Wright rumors are floating around, but there’s no logic there to me.

J.J. Redick will be the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
