2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump called Fox News host Greg Gutfeld live on air after the network cut away from his reaction to Vice President Kamala Harris’ DNC speech late Thursday.

Trump ripped into Harris’s record for ten minutes on the phone with Fox News’ Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum before 11:30 p.m. struck, which prompted the anchors to abruptly stop Trump short of completing his thought for “Gutfeld” to begin.

When Gutfeld appeared on screen, he raised a finger and said, “That wasn’t my fault, Donald Trump! He’s still talking, by the way.”

Later in the show, “Gutfeld” returned from commercial break to show the host talking to Trump on the phone.

“I don’t know, I think we got a lot more money,” Trump told Gutfeld, who erupted with laughter as the GOP nominee’s voice sounded out on speaker phone.

“Hey! Mr. President, I’m live now. Say hello to my audience,” Gutfeld said as the crowd cheered. “So don’t — don’t say anything that will get you in trouble!” Gutfeld joked.

“At this point, what difference does it make? We’re doing well, we’re leading in the polls,” Trump responded.

“Alright, Mr. President—” Gutfeld started as Trump interrupted citing poll numbers and saying the Democratic Party “basically staged a coup.”

“Yeah,” Gutfeld shrugged, smiling.

“And, you know, let’s all see how it happens. But I think we’re doing very well,” Trump said.

“Alright, Mr. P, I gotta go!” Gutfeld said.

“Have a good time!” Trump told the Fox News host.

“I’ll see ya!” Gutfeld replied, hanging up the phone.

Harris has been the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate since President Joe Biden dropped out and endorsed her on July 21. While Biden’s withdrawal is presented as something he willfully decided to do, multiple reports indicate top Democrats led a weeks-long pressure campaign behind the scenes to force him out of the race following his poor debate performance against Trump in late June.
