Paul Harrell, a 58-year-old gun-rights activist and a popular firearms expert, died Tuesday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, Sportskeeda.com reported.
Harrell said he had stage two cancer back in July 2023, but was confident that he would beat the disease and be around for years to come, the outlet reported.
Roy Harrell, Paul’s brother, uploaded a video on his brother’s YouTube channel titled “I’m Dead” featuring Paul saying his goodbyes. “Let me get right to the point, as I am recording this today it is 20 Dec., 2023, and I am recording this and giving Brad [Paul’s video editor] instructions to publish it upon my death. So if you are watching me, I’m dead,” Paul said.
Paul mentioned that his cancer diagnosis had worsened and the cancer “spread to my bones.”
“My time is drawing very short,” he said.
Paul paid tribute to those who supported him on his endeavors from YouTube followers to Patreon funders. He asked that his Patreon supporters not “immediately turn off” their support because “we have hopes that a couple of the crew —primarily my brother — will continue making content.” Toward the close of the video, Roy appeared acknowledging his brother’s death and saying that he and the crew will give “channel updates as we move through this.” Brad, the video editor, also acknowledged the passing of his friend.
“I just learned and was given permission to share that Paul has passed. A true lion of men, a paragon of integrity, the gun dad of the internet, and a role model for us all.
