A woman dumped the contents of her coin purse into Kansas City man, Billy Ray Harris’ cup, only to remember later that she had put her engagement ring in that purse earlier, Yahoo News reported.

Sarah Darling, upset upon realizing what she had done a day later, returned to the scene.

“I thought for sure there was no way I would get it back,” Darling told Kansas City TV. “I was so incredibly upset because, more than just the value of the ring, it had sentimental value.”

Harris, who knew the ring was real when he saw it in his cup, held onto it instead of heading to a pawn shop.

“I do still have some character,” he said, noting he was raised by a reverend.

Darling said it was a miracle that she has the ring again and thanked Harris, giving him all of the bills she had in her wallet.

The incident wasn’t the first time Harris reunited a valuable ring with its owner. Several years ago, Harris found and returned the Super Bowl ring of a retired Raiders player.
