Sophia’s traveling pants sisterhood. Author and motivational writer Sophia Nelson delivers a wallop of wisdom today on sisters being sisters to one another. And by that, she means women friends not being selfish bitches. She writes in HuffPost today, In the final analysis, to be a “sister” is to be a friend. It is to be loyal. Tried and true. It is to give a smile, lend a hand, and practice friendship. It is to be forgiving. To be a covering, a balm, a helping hand, a fierce advocate and builder of other women.” I like the ending: “It’s time for us to put the ‘sister’ back into the word ‘sisterhood.’ It starts with you and with me, right here and right now.” I hope this doesn’t mean no more watching “Bad Girls Club.” Read here.

Senator’s COS picked up on child porn allegations. A real shocker to reporters who’ve know him over the years, Sen. Lamar Alexander‘s Chief of Staff Ryan Loskarn was all over the news today as the result of federal agents taking him away this morning with piles of possible evidence. See Politico‘s story here. The Hill‘s story reports that no arrest has been made and that the FBI is not involved. And HuffPost‘s story says the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is the lead investigative agency on the case. Weirdly, the story has 226 “likes.” Ugh. On a side note, you may need a bath after you read these stories.

If you like meat and cheese, don’t read this. But if you can deal with jasmine rice, mangoes and bananas, by all means, forge ahead. See a story from NPR‘s “the salt” blog here.
