Danish archer Lars Andersen wants to prove that a stick and string from the paleolithic era can be far more deadly than history gives it credit for, and in a new video uploaded to YouTube Friday, he shows why.
Between feats beyond master-level archery, including shooting through a falling soda can tab and splitting an incoming arrow with another arrow, the video explains how Andersen studies historical texts, ancient paintings and more to discover the range of skill and technique archers across various cultures used in battle thousands of years ago.
As Andersen illustrates in the video — which climbed to the top of Reddit’s front page Friday — those skills go far beyond the target-shooting niche contemporary archery has fallen into.
