And you thought the Starbucks race campaign was annoying.
WaPo’s race writer Wesley Lowery, who prides himself on a being a real reporter — he recently trashed CNN’s Anderson Cooper and NBC’s Joe Scarborough for being subpar entrants to an influential journalists list — is being dispatched to cover the red carpet at this weekend’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Possible questions from Lowery include: “Why does it have to be a red carpet?”
This may seriously be the worst White House Correspondents’ Dinner yet — ex-Politico reporter Patrick Gavin has thoroughly trashed the event with his film Nerd Prom; BuzzFeed won’t even throw a party this year; and Wesley Lowery will be on the red carpet?
Somebody should probably warn the celebs to do their Ferguson homework.
The Mirror asked Wesley for a taste of what we can expect from his red carpet prowess. So far, no response as he’s busy tweeting and sprucing up his tux.
From WaPo PR:
Don’t worry. They won’t just let Wesley roam around the event — he’ll be behind the rope line.
But watch out for the photogs, Wes. They’re not exactly big fans of some dude with a cell phone camera getting in their way.
