GREENVILLE, S.C. — Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum thinks his chances for the GOP presidential nomination are not as bad as some may think.

When asked by The Daily Caller Saturday at the Citizen’s United Freedom Summit as to what he would do differently compared to his last presidential run in 2012 and if he thought he was a longer shot presently than the last cycle, he replie, “How can I be a longer shot than I was last time?”

Santorum continued, “When Fox News did a top 15 for president in the summer of 2012, I wasn’t even listed in the top 15,” noting the significance of being within that set of numbers.

“I think probably most people would put me somewhere in the top 15 if I ran this time so I don’t think I’m a longer shot this time around,” he said.

The most recent Real Clear Politics poll from April 30 shows Santorum tied with Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 2 percent and ahead of South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, and businesswoman Carly Fiorina.
