Former New Orleans Saints safety Darren Sharper admitted to raping three New Orleans-area women in 2013 at Orleans Parish Criminal District Court on Monday.

Sharper’s Monday plea deal — including two counts of forcible rape and a third of simple rape — is part of a larger, “global” deal. The case includes Sharper’s admitted rapes of six other women in Los Vegas, Los Angeles and Tempe, AZ. The terms of the deal will see Sharper serve 10 years in federal prison before being released on lifetime parole.

The New Orleans Advocate reports that Sharper “has also agreed to share with investigators any knowledge he has about crimes others may have committed. The global deal is contingent on investigators being satisfied in his honesty in those interviews.”

Sharper was part of New Orleans’ 2010 Super Bowl champion team, the city’s only professional championship. His last season in the league was 2010.
