FIFA president Sepp Blatter — who was at the center of the international soccer community’s corruption scandal this past summer — is reportedly facing criminal charges in Switzerland for “criminal mismanagement” and “misappropriation.”
Blatter previously resigned from his post in June, just after Switzerland began rounding up FIFA officials as part of the FBI-led investigation, yet he back-tracked on that promise shortly after. (RELATED: FIFA President Steps Down Amid Corruption Scandal)
According to Deadspin, the new charges raised against Blatter are in connection to a “disloyal payment” FIFA made to Union Of European Football Associations (UEFA) president Michael Platini back in 2011. (VIDEO: Comedian ‘Makes It Rain’ At Sepp Blatter Presser)
