Sen. [crscore]Claire McCaskill[/crscore] explained that there is no “natural enthusiasm” for Hillary Clinton among young women because “the Clintons have been around all their lives.”

Appearing on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on Wednesday, McCaskill suggested one reason millennial women are not drawn to Clinton is because “they haven’t yet fully looked at the choices.”

Mitchell told McCaskill, “I think the Clinton campaign felt that they could have a really enthusiastic base among women and what they are finding is what all of us are finding in the polling, is that there’s a generational divide that older women, college educated women are supporting Hillary Clinton, younger women are less so.” (RELATED: Scarborough To McCaskill: ‘Every Single Statement You Make Is Filled With A Barb And An Insult’)

McCaskill said “There may not be a natural enthusiasm because the Clintons have been around all their lives. And this doesn’t feel as new and as different and historic as it does to some of us who understand what it means to have a woman president in light of the struggles we have gone through.”
