Mayor Bill de Blasio says “There’s no question about it… Donald Trump’s right in this case” that New York City has great people.

Friday on CNN’s “Wolf,” de Blasio said, “Ted Cruz insulted the people of New York and by the way, blatantly hypocritical on his part. He has come here plenty of times to gain money for his campaign from people in New York.” (RELATED: Trump Stuns Cruz Into Silence During ‘New York Values’ Fight [VIDEO])

During Thursday night’s Fox Business Network debate, Cruz said, “Everyone understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal or pro-abortion or pro-gay marriage. Focus around money and the media.”

Trump responded, “New York is a great place. It’s got great people. It’s got loving people, wonderful people. When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on Earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than New York.” (RELATED: Pro-Cruz Steve King Praises Trump For ‘New York Values’ Answer [VIDEO])

“There’s no question about it Wolf. Donald Trump’s right in this case. I don’t say that very often but he is. Ted Cruz insulted the people of New York and by the way, blatantly hypocritical on his part. He has come here plenty of times to gain money for his campaign from people in New York,” he said.

Cruz is “very quick to put out his hand and get New York money, and then he insults the people of New York and the values of New York. The very same values– Trump’s right– were part of overcoming the greatest attack that this nation has ever received on our soil. So when you thing about it, there’s immense hypocrisy,” de Blasio suggested.

“By the way, he went to Goldman Sachs, a New York institution for a big loan. Again, he leaves that out of the discussion,” de Blasio argued. “So I think Ted Cruz actually has created a lot of anger, not only here but a lot of people around the country are going to see this as divisive, negative, and I think he owes the people of New York an apology.” (RELATED: Ted Cruz Admits To ‘Inadvertent Filing Error’ After Not Disclosing Goldman Sachs Loan)
