The MLB announced Friday that it is suspending Mets pitcher Jenrry Mejia for life after he failed his third drug test for performance enhancing drugs.
Mets RHP Jenrry Mejia permanently suspended by MLB after testing positive for Boldenone, his 3rd performance-enhancing substance violation.

Additionally, Mejia’s most recent failed drug test occurred while still serving the 162 game suspension for his second failed test.
Jenrry Mejia's second and third positive PED tests both occurred while he was actively serving suspensions. Hard to fathom.

Mejia is the first player in league history to receive a lifetime suspension for PED use. He is eligible to apply for reinstatement in one year.
Jenrry Mejia can apply for reinstatement from ban in one year, but must sit out a minimum of two years even if that's granted by MLB.
