Dale Earnhardt Jr. Announces He Will Donate Brain To Concussion Research

Dale Earnhardt Jr. made a major announcement over the weekend.

In response to an ESPN story about the link between Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and football players, NASCAR’s favorite son tweeted that he plans on donating his brain to concussion research. (RELATED: Dale Jr. Just Got Engaged, So Here’s Some Pics Of His Hot Rod Fiancée)

Junior isn’t stopping at the helmet. He plans on donating all of his organs to scientific research, reports the Washington Post.

Earnhardt has sustained five concussions across his racing career, with the most recent forcing him to miss two races during the 2012 season.
